Quality, Dependability, Warranty, Liability
Brake wheels are cast from the finest ASTM and ASME specified 80-60-03 Ductile Iron to provide maximum service and a high-coefficient of friction.
Material is the same as recommended by OEM's to assure that the torque and kinetic energy requirements remain the same as originally engineered.
All brake wheels are balanced to assure longest possible life for the wheel, motor and bearings. All wheels are inspected during every step of
manufacture, from receipt of the casting through machining and balancing. Quick delivery. Many standard size AISE wheels are available for
immediate shipment.
Brake wheels for all makes and types of brake systems are available. We can provide wheels for electric, hydraulic, air over hydraulic, or
mechanically operated brake systems, 4-1/2" thru 30" diameter, both pilot bore and finished bored for the 600 and 800 series mill
motors.
Brake Products can also supply stock brake wheels. These are completely machined except for the bore and keyslot, which must be machined by
the purchaser.
Brake Products warrants every brake wheel be to free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of twelve months after shipment.
Warranty is limited to replacement of brake wheel.
All products are covered by a $1,000,000 liability insurance

* Energy Dissipation: Brake energy ratings are normally given in foot pounds per hour (ft. lb./hr) for
repetitive braking. The above energy dissipation figures are maximums based on reasonably even spaced stops with
free air flow for cooling around the outer surface of the brake wheel. These figures assume an ambient temperature
of approximately 68oF (20oC).
Energy dissipation (kinetic energy) on overhead crane applications can be calculated as follows:
Where:

= = = = = = =
|
Kinetic Energy (Ft. Lb./Hr.) Number of stops per hour Constant
Empty crane weight (tons) Loaded crane weight (tons)
